A Junk Drawer in an Empty Room was created for the "How Are You Feeling?" game jam in 2018. It's my first Twine--my first game of any kind--though I've been writing for a long time. I plan to update the game with graphics and sound over the next few months.

In A Junk Drawer In an Empty Nest, you play a parent rummaging through a junk drawer while rummaging through memories of your child who recently moved out of your house.

"It’s strange how something as simple as junk, tossed aside and kept in a rogue drawer, barely ever opened, can remind you of someone you love so dearly. Simple everyday objects that you’re pretty sure everyone else has in their junk drawer. But they’re all the more meaningful when they remind you of the person you love." --Jupiter Hadley in  Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

The writing is really good. I like this game. It made me feel things... like, after playing, it made me want to talk to my mom. :)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

Interesting text game, quite minimalist in every way - both in presentation and the story. It has nice writing, though, a good change to play a game that dwells in smaller matters. The number of alternative paths means you can get a few replays out of this. If you're interested, you could maybe enter our game making contest, the Game Development World Championship, we have a category for jam games!

Thanks for the invite! I'll definitely look into it.

Alright, thanks!
